Fire Rated Doors
INTRODUCTION :
The fire
retardant door is designed to delay the spreading of fire from the room
where the fire starts to other rooms by different time of rating starts
from 30 minutes up to 120 minutes for the main purpose to save the lives
of the people. To control
the damage of building and its properties to the minimum limits. Usually
these doors are designed by the consultant’s architect who designs the
building depending on number of people using the building lengths of its
corridor, and number of floors. From this factors the architect can
decide model of door and rating time which needed and enough to let the
people to escape from the building and keep good time for the civil
defense personal to kill the fire. MATERIALS : 1- Door leaf
Panel: The panel of
the fire retardant door leaf is made of tread & pressed chip board
supplied by Halspan and certified by BM Trada, containing special
chemicals to withstand the fire for the specific time. It contains three
different density of layers with good chemical properties to fit for
perfect work like glazing, artistic work. 2- Door Jamb
: Made of hard wood with density 650 kg/ cubic meter from beach, cherry,
oak, Red Mahogany… etc. 3-
Intumescent tubes smoke control system which has very important function
such most of the deaths happened from the poisonous smoke and this
system it controls the spread of the smoke from the room location of
fire to the corridor, next room, other area which that allow the people
to see the path to escape from the building. 4-
Accessories : It has good specification, tested for fire retardant door
and fixed with seal for which not allow for smoke to pass to other area
and not conduct any kind of heat. 5- Glazing
glass : we are using reinforced, treated and tested, fire retardant
glass. TYPES OF DOOR : 1- 30 Min.
Fire retardant door , panel 44 mm thick. 2- 60 Min.
Fire retardant door, panel 54 mm thick. 3- 90 Min.
Fire retardant door, panel 64 mm thick. 4- 120 Min.
Fire retardant door, panel 64 mm thick which consist of one layer core
at center from Halspan Chip board with two layers from GRG (Grouted
reinforced gyps) for both side plus two layers from MDF; to treat the
surface to receive veneer and painting, all of this layers are bonded by
special fire rated glue. MANUFACTURING : All
processes and materials are certified by BM Trada and all processes
since incoming material up to final assembly in the site are clearly
documented including Main drawing, shop drawings and installation
instructions. Finally after completion of installation of fire retardant
door will affix Q mark from Q mark from BM Trada approved stickers. ACTION DURING FIRE : When the
room temperature reaches to 100 oC smoke control system of
the door will starts its work. By expanding the smoke seal which made of
Silicate Potassium, it will close the door gaps; between the door panel
& door jamb/ frame, (which are necessary for opening at normal use)
closing function of door and stops the smoke to spread out side. The door
panel treated chip board is also a fire retardant material; chemical
components, will stops the fire for its specific duration. Likewise all
the smoke and fire are controlled in the particular room where fire
starts, as per the specified rated time / duration so that less property
damage / escaping the people in other area are being safely. Again we
conform that All of our fire retardant doors materials are certified by
Q mark from BM TRADA. ARTISTIC WORK : All doors
can be decorated by fine finished materials like natural veneer,
glazing… The doors can be used not only for the living room also for
lifts, staircases, kitchens, etc. Also these doors allow opening to make
vision options. |
